10in to 10.5in walker blower

I am trying to see what all is involved in getting the 10.5in blower to fit where a 10in was. My walker is an 06 MT 20hp. I did my search and all I could seem to find was people saying they went and did it and its possible, but dont say what all is involved. I also see some people saying that there are kits, but that all they mention about it.

I have a 1997 MT 20 and had the dealer upgrade mine. There is a kit involved, not sure just what is in the kit but I know they had to change a pully. Ask you Walker dealer for info.

yeah, imma have to bring it to him and let him install it. i really want to keep the 10.5 blower since its better with wet grass and we have years where all you cut in wet grass. and its like right there, just hitting on something but i cant see what its hitting on.

Walker Mower 10.5 blower upgrade kit for MT, part number 7543-9. In my area the cost of the kit was around $680+tax.

Interested as well.

We have an 07 with the 26hp efi and I feel that it doesn't vacuum like it should. For those of you with the 10.5 inch blower did you notice a big difference in performance?

Btw here in pa I was quoted just shy of 850 for kit, labor, and tax

Yes........... The kit has a smaller pully so the blower turns faster, big differance.

does anybody know if the 06 came with the 10.5. i would think mine is an 10in but i bout it used and dont know for sure. when i put the 10.5 blower in there, its will go pretty much all the way but hangs up just a little. i think its hanging up on the piece that they added to make it more "hardened". model number is 78544

Ok, so after working and procrastination for a couple days, I finally got it all finished. I learned I had the 10.5 blower the whole time, I just have to older style one. You have to do some serious grinding and cutting to get it to fit and then the intake tube support piece you also have to do some grinding and cutting, drilling new holes and tapping them. I went through 3 cut off wheels and 3 saw zaw blades. If anybody would like some info on hows it done, send me a PM. I would have shot some pics, but I was just figuring it out as I went along and was pissed and frustrated half the time lol. But I can give you some pointers if you need them.
