New Holland TZ18DA subcompact tractor
Hi Guys
been lurking the forums for awhile but dont really post. I am selling one of my old trucks and was planning to use the money for either a new dump trailer or a bobcat mt52. Got a call today from a guy that wants to trade me a 2007 New Holland TZ18DA tractor with 54" belly mount mower. Most of our work lately has been residential patios/steps/small retaining walls. We do plenty of landscaping but I was thinking I'd get more use out of the dingo and dump trailer (just been using the dump trucks lately). My gut says this tractor is too small to really do me any good. But I have my truck for sale at $7k and this tractor only has 50 hours on it so it seems like it should be worth 8-10k. Can anyone provide input on what I might be able to use the tractor for? I don't realy want to have to spend the money on forks or a loader to put this thing to use, but I also like cash free trades. Thanks for the help |

That is a great machine. Install the loader. You should be able to get the money out of it if it does not work out. I have used a similar tractor for large residential landscape jobs to move anything from bags of concrete to large landscape rocks. Those usually sell for about 7k with no loader and about 9k with.

IMO it would be too small for any sort of hardscaping work. You'd be better off with a Dingo or MT52. You'll want at least a 35 or 40 HP tractor to do any sort of decent loader work.

haha - perfect answers. i told him no. the reason i put the truck up for sale was to buy an MT52.
it looks like a nice little tractor but at only 18 hp? isnt that what a walk behind mower has?! |
