Yes you can get the metal hopper on that model. Go to Grasshoper website and check it out.

Grasshopper website don't specify which deck(48" 52")
I found this website

they don't list it for the 48" maybe because of the with?
maybe 52" will fit not sure

How did you get the guard off the echos. I can't seem to figure out mine for anything

Yeah I saw the screws underneath the head but couldn't figure out how to get the head Completly off.

Find the hole one the metal ring in between the head and gear box and insert a tool in the hole and that will lock the head and turn it right to loosen the head
