Has NE1 replaced a CAT cab door?

Our door for the CAT skid steer got mangled. Hinges twisted, glass twisted, door skin mangled.

So I bought new hinges from CAT. To the tune of $50 each.

This am I open the boxes and I find they hinges came as BARE METAL (not painted)!

This is the first time I ever bought door hinges from CAT.

So, can anyone who has bought new door hinges for their CAT skid steer tell me if they also came as bare metal or were they painted?

Now I gotta primer them. And wait for them to dry. And them I gotta paint them and wait for the paint to dry completely. Basically a 2-3 day delay. One day for the primer. and another day, maybe two for the paint, depending if I do 1 or 2 coats of paint.

For 50 bucks each I would expect the hinges to be painted.

Don't have a CAT but that wouldn't make me very happy to open a box of unpainted parts for a big price tag. Pretty poor business sense there, unless they don't think anyone will send them back.

At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I realized the hinges had a thin coating of oil on them. To prevent rusting. Which indicates to me that they intentionally send them out like that.

Its not the end of the world, but it surely threw me off

Maybe the hinges are also used by other manufacturers and they send them out unpainted because of that? I doubt CAT makes the hinges.

Maybe they came from a far away land that had a dimly light warehouse and the "employee" wasn't able to tell if they were painted.

Yeah the throttle cable sticks. When you let off the foot pedal it stays down, so you need to use your foot to pull up on the pedal.

So I call CAT to order a new cable. $225.00!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the 225 but I'm rebelling out of spite. Before i spend $225 I'm gonna take the cable off and soak it in a pan of WD40 and see if that helps any. And then spray lithium grease into the tube.

Try Fluid Film. It is worlds better than WD40
