I've been to one VDK seminar and really enjoyed it. It was on selling/bidding/estimating. Most of my work is time and materials, and I rarely bid anything. But it helped me learn how to find my daily/monthly/yearly costs, and you need those before you can bid properly Never taken a Huston seminar.
