Do I Buy a Skid Steer
I found an amazing deal on a 2011 John Deere skid.....318. That's the only problem. I looked up specs and deere said the operating capacity is only 1800 lbs. Would you buy a machine than can't lift a full ton skid?

No. If it doesn't lift what you need it to, you will be paying employees to breakdown skids. In order to do that you are paying them to load empty skids at the start of day and then reload and unload again in the course of a job. IMO any money you are saving on the upfront by the great deal, will quickly be eaten up on labor cost.
