Opinions on this Scag 48 Pro-V walkbehind. Scag vs Exmark?
Ok so ive been searching Craigslist for a while looking for a 48 inch walkbehind. I've been thinking Exmark all the way but ran across this listing on this Scag. I'm sure I could get a good deal. What do you guys think? A good mower? What's a good price?
Thanks!! 2012 SCAG 48" Pro-V Commercial mower $3800 http://jackson.craigslist.org/grd/3634159218.html Posted via Mobile Device |

If you have the cash in hand, I would say barter with the
owner of that machine. Have you used a pro-v before? If you have not I would recommend going to take that machine for a test drive. Like many fellers on this site say, you either love them or hate them. We love our scag pro-v's! There are numerous threads on the pro-v on this site in the last couple years. I have been a contributor to many. Use the search function to find some more info about them from folks that use them. The word around the watershed is that Scag is going to debut a new hydro walkbehind this spring. Facts always go to show that buying a first year model of anything always has its drawbacks. Also more than likely the price point for these new machines will be on par with the likes of exmark and toro as well as john deer's astronomical pricing for these types of machines. It comes down to you taking the scag pro-v for a test drive in a yard. If you like it, buy it! And definitely barter with the owner on price. |

Dude no! You are only saving 900 bucks or so and get no warranty cuz scag does not transfer them. Spend the additional money to get a warranty or talk him down.
Link to prices scag is running on them. They are dumping them! http://www.scag.com/prov/prov_promo.html Buying new you can finance it and not spend all your money. |
