New lorepetulum to replace purple pixie need name of plant
I was at the green and growin show in greensboro nc last week and came across a booth who was show casing a new variety of lorepetulum that was supposed to have a beter root system than the purple pixie and with the same characteristics as the pixie. I cant seem to find the catalog or remember the name. If anyone knows the name of this plant that would be great

I pulled Daruma off google, but I think I know what you're talking about. A local grower had it last summer, but now all I see on the availability list is ruby. I'll ask next time I'm out that way.

It is definitely not ruby, that's just the only one they currently had in stock. I was hoping they still had 3-4 on their list.

To my knowledge ruby doesn't do that well when flowering. Im not aware of any new cultivars. Love the purple pixies and snow emeralds I have sold and pushed the heck out of those. Interested in learning the name of this new one.

I have rubys and ever red sunsets at my house. I love the ever reds...deep purple foliage, nice red flowers. The ruby flowers just fine, though the foliage is not as pretty. The new growth is a nice purple, but the old growth is often deep green, and in the heat of the summer sometimes lighter.
