I've tried a bunch of different kind's, this type is the best, IMO.

Thanks for the quick reply...I really only need one for checking soil moisture in containers...are there any cheaper alternatives???

I haven't priced probe's for a few year's, the price of those thing's has gone way up, the one i linked is one of the cheaper one's. If you just want to check moisture in container's get the 14" x 5/8" version of this -

You'll have to shop around for a decent price though.
