Don't want to high jack the thread but can anyone give feedback on clipping size and discharge quality of a Velocity compared to a Hustler VX4? Battling clippings from my Hustlers and considering a Scag.

As you know I ran Scags for about 15 years and am a huge Velocity fan. After seeing the VX4 cut in person(you saw the pics) I can safely say the two decks have nothing in common. I couldnt make a Velocity clump like the VX4 if I wanted it too. You will get some carpeting with the Velocity in tall grass but no clumping.

When you say carpeting gmlc, do you mean the clippings that hang out up top like dirt usually stays above on a plush carpet?

Exactly. The velocity produces longer clippings so when cutting longer grass you may get the cliipings on top. But the big advantage of this is the ability to cut some seriously wet grass without clumping. The velocity discharge is second to none.
