The right equipment

Im going to give a shot at some installs this season. By the way I am new to this forum and have found it a great resource and have done a great deal of reading. I have a larger ride-on case trencher. Is this overkill i have seen some guys using smaller walk behind and pull trenchers are these more advantageous for most residential jobs for their size and less disturbance to the turf. My father owns a construction business and I can essentially have this as he never uses it. Do you i need to invest in a smaller trencher?
