New govt allowed swipe fee

Apparently the govt is now allowing a swipe fee to be applied in order to overcome the charge from the credit card companies.

So what are you going to do? Eat the fee? Pass onto customers?

Maybe a fee for any transaction under a certain amount?

It's not the government allowing it, but it is part of the class action settlement resulting from the suit against the credit companies. Depending on state, you can now recoup swipe fees if you choose to. I've posted the links on here before, but if you hit Visa and MC's websites, you can read the details and requirements.

If you done business by the "rules", how long would you be in business? I've always charged for this fee.
