So Far I'm absolutely 50/50 with brass barbed inserts with 2 or 3 ss hose clamps or ford pack joints. I've had 100% sucesss with both and to with my knowledge none of my fittings on both haven't leaked.

IDEAL® Lox-On® 69 Series are the last word in poly pipe clamping. Worm gear clamps can't match their strength. They also cost at least three times as much as a worm gear clamp. I had trouble finding them last time I had to buy some, and got stuck paying list price for less than carton quantity. (Thank goodness for time and material billing )

I still cringe thinking about the last re route I had to do. Installer put a Japanese maple within a inch of a hardie valve that was 14" deep. Not fun.

I've done a few other leak jobs but again forgot to take pictures.

This one was fun and easy- Found leak in 15 min. Total job time 2hour 15 min
The leak was directly underneath a large stump

Split in the poly next to a coupler. . 35gpm leak loss . 4' down.
Located leak in about 15 min. Total time 4.5 hours .

You think they'd learn that copper tubing would save much grief. I assume these are all curbside water meters.
