Spray or Granular Pre + schedule

I'm gearing up for getting my yard in shape this spring and I was in the John Deere Landscapes/Lesco store today. I'm in North Florida(Jacksonville) growing St Augustine grass. I asked the guy at the counter about when to apply a pre-emergent and he said Feb-15th. That sounds about right to me. I also asked him whether to spray or to put down a granular version. He recommended a granular (0-0-7 with dimension) since I was using a backpack sprayer. Is this my best option or should I spray? With what if so?

I was planning on using Mansion with a spreader/sticker for post.

He also recommended a 24-2-11 in march then in april a 18-0-9 with allectus and again in June.

Is this a sound plan? Would you modify it?

Feb 15th is a date pulled from a magic hat. Experience gives best results.

0-0-7 dim if crabgrass is not dead from frost. If not. 0-0-7 pre-m cheaper and will perform well.

Fert blends depend on many factors. If this is his recommendactions without asking questions and just standard MO. Ask someone who will ask current condition and expectation questions. Especially what your maintenance and cultural practices are. To tweak your ability. For proper results.
