I'd love to know where you took climbing classes here in CT. Can you let me know?

Apparently there is a course 2 streets away from me, lol. I just googled it. If you took from Gary in Manchester, let me know how the course is

excellent!, I spoke to him on the phone, he sounds like a good guy. does he cover any rigging? and you felt confident afterwords to get out there and pick up some tree work? I'm looking for something to expand our company into.

He doesn't teach anything about rigging its more of a recreational tree climbing class. However it teaches you all the basics to get you up there. Buy the book the tree climbers companion and look on amazon for some rigging books and videos for tree work. Then start memorizing knots, haul systems etc. then start practicing in your yard. Get easier jobs first then work your way into more mentally demanding jobs. I'm still learning everyday I'm out. I feel that once you stop learning its time to hang up the boots.

I actually unfortunately sold the mini and skid. The mini was an 07 bobcat 335 which I loved but needed the money for some personal stuff at home. The skid was a 1991 Thomas 133 worked good but started having a ton of issues so I traded it for my cabover dump. But the other equipment I rent usually a month at a time when I line up enough work for it. May not be the most cost efficient but it's serving its purpose for the time being. Unfortunately I've built the business without having or using business credit so until it gets established ill be renting till I can get approved for a loan on a new skid or mini.
