Two "firsts" for 2013....time to get started?

Well, I got a call from a customer to come by and do an estimate on a clean up. I went by today and got the job, so thats my FIRST job of the 2013 season.
Directly after that, i went over to my local stihl dealer and dropped the cash on my FIRST equipment purchase of the year...a brand new STIHL BR 600 blower. Ive been wanting that thing for a while now, so hopefully it lives up to what Ive read about it on here, and other reviews.

Todays temps were in the low 60's, so hopefully ole man winter will leave West Texas early this year, and our annual rainfall will increase this year. That combination would mean more $$$ for me this year...and i REALLY need a good year.

GREAT blower - and wow its 0 Degrees here in PA. Your Lucky!

Last years drought killed my sales, so I am setting up a Efficiency plan next year.... Smaller truck / no trailer / more efficient equipment. I just need someone to make a grasser body for my pickup, best estimate I had so far in PA is $5000.

Goodluck on the 2013 season!

I hear ya. Last year, our town enforced a SERIOUS water restriction, preventing us from watering lawns, and the drought was terrible. Last fall, I bougt a billy goat aerator, so IF we get some decent rain in the spring, I hope to make some money with that machine as well.
