Carry a spare rope start assembly for this mower if it is your only one, pop one off, pop other back on, re-rope the broken one later instead of stopping mid-day to do it.

Years ago, when first starting my business, I pulled a little too hard broke the handle off and fell off of my trailer. Thankfully, no one was around

Had that happen last season and all the stores were closed. since two of my mowers have the same engine model I just kept swapping the pull starts from mower to mower...finished the rest of the day...good thing my lazer has electric start

Electric start is by far more realiable and also safer than a rope.
a Although electric start for a 21 might be a little overkill. |

I say electric is just another thing to break, easy fix for that just tie a new not, electric start can cost some $$$

I agree. Electric starts are a money well.....just got back from having 5 starters cleaned and repaired $250. And then there is the batteries and the the relays and the key switches. It definitely is better to have recoil unless you are short on muscles.

The manual starter for my ferris 13hp kawai was over 100$ and broke again within a year. Not to mention if your not careful you can eaisly injure your wrists or something else.
A flooded engine can be a nightmare to start with a rope. |
