Teejet Nozzles are leaking once I stop spraying?
What is causing this? When I let off the trigger and pressure stops, the nozzles leak out of the tip what is left in the wand.
I read something about a strainer (which didn't come with the nozzles) would stop the leak. Any advice on what mesh type strainer? I am using AI11004 nozzles. Thanks. |

Make sure your strainer has a silver disk in it. That means it is a check ball strainer and should solve it. Also make sure the strainer is clean.

I've searched and all I can find is the one posted for solo. Does rittenhouse sell it?

Thanks. What BP did you use it with?

Didn't much matter, unless it's a handheld or a metel type wand tip. If the nozzle cap inner diameter is too snug. The support lip holding the valve from moving up the tube can be CAREFULLY, LIGHTLY, grinned to support a better fit. Most all BP's will support.

I read on teejets website that the strainer and check valve are "not for use" on AI tips. Last edited by Ijustwantausername; 02-05-2013 at 09:30 PM. |

AI tips have a pre orifice assembly that is not compatible with the strainers fitted with the ball and spring check valves. I use diaphragm check valve nozzle bodies and the regular strainers before the nozzles. Much prefer them over the ball and spring checks. Spring checks restrict flow way more than a diaphragm check.

I use a different setup with strainers before the tips (AI110) which won't accept strainer/checkvalve. Typically the ball check valve strainers are set to about 5lb.PSIG. THESE DO NOT LAST FOREVER. That spring gets weak and strainer/check valve just need to be replaced. Rittenhouse has them or sometimes you can find at Tractor Supply. I used a 100 mesh Brass checkvalve strainer.
