How to get rid of old fertilizer?

Over the years I have accumulated a few dozen bags of fertilizer that has been exposed to humidity and gotten all clumpy. Wont run through spreader without clogging. Anyone else dealing with this problem? Would love to find a reasonable solution.

Is is water soluable? You could melt it down in the tank if you have a sprayer. Sell it to a guy who does at a decent price.

The two states I have lived in(Maryland and SC) have one day per year that they will except hazardous materials. They will take anything and everything. Call your local landfill/recycling center for dates in your area. Surely NJ has something in place.

I would be worried about it beating the piss out of the pump. I thought about getting some kind of large meat grinder or device I could feed it through.

For home owners yes they have. But for commercial need to go through private hazardous waste disposal co. $$$$

Don't tell them you are commercial. I utilize the service every year to get rid of paint, stale gas, fertilizers etc.

Your best way on this break it up if you can and try spreading it.
Or you can call your local D.E.C they can tell you how.

If its plain fertilizer without herbicides, I will use the stuff as ornamental fertilizer and just spread by hand out of a small bucket as i go around the landscape beds. You dont have to get rid of it all in one place.
