Advertising on Facebook

Has anyone tried advertising on Facebook yet? I started a FB page for my up and coming company and I have the option to promote my page for $5 a day and up to $15 a day. I haven't done a lot of research on it yet, but i am pretty sure the more you spend the more people profiles it will hit. I know on my personal page now I am getting tons of restaurant and bar advertising and I actually want to check 2 of the places out so it has kinda worked on me. I just want to get some of your Veteran opinions on this.

This has been discussed a few times around here. The consensus: advertise to get likes if you have a long term Facebook strategy. Do not advertise if you are hoping for new customers now- it won't happen.

You can always look into it. I think you can set a budget by day, week, or timeframe.

So you could say $5 per week or $5 per day until it hit $50 total and it would stop.

It's based on clicks or likes.

I did it last year. Added quite a few people but none of them converted to leads. I don't think I'd do it again. For $150 I can buy coffee and bagels for a handful of real estate offices and probably get better results.

I started June of last year and the only money I have spent is on my website Ocalalawns.com which was worth every penny. I use only Facebook and craigslist and have 62 weekly accounts and Jan 1st started my biggest account ($92,000 a year) and I would say that 95% of my business has come from Facebook including the big one. My question is why would you pay for Facebook?

This actually sounds like a decent idea. Have you tried it?

Maybe not advertising with facebook but its a must to have a nice facebook page IMO. I find facebook pages come up first in a lot of internet searches. I have all my company info and contact info on facebook. Lots of links to my website as well.
