Bagging Zero Turn Rider
Are there any other brands of zero turn mowers besides Walker and Exmark (navigator) that bag grass and still allow mowing close to objects with both sides of the mowing deck?
Thanks for any input, Kevin |

After further research I found Toro Z355 and Scag Cougar. Are there anymore? It looks like they stopped making the Toro outfront style. Is that true?

I know Lesco made a model as well. They are mainly the same with different paint, you get what you pay for.

The Scag Cougar was the biggest design failure in the history of Scag mowers. They were full of design and operational flaws. In fact, Scag actually bought quite a few of them back from owners/dealers. If you ever see one for sale, run the other way, fast. They were ony produced for a short time.
Bobcat/Bunton, built one about 14 or 15 years ago. I don't know much about that model, but it never sold well at all either. Walker owns the market, and Exmark is a minor player in the market. That is about the only choices you have. Oh, FYI, the Walker and the Exmark are not even close to being the same machine in different paint.

I think if you found walker in this category there is no match.

Thanks for the replies. Finding a used 48" GHS walker less than 10 years old with under 1,000 hours for under say 7 or $8K within 500 miles of central Illinois seems like an impossibility. I can't justify a new one for my yard only and I'm not going into the business.
I may have to settle for something else but I want to be able to bag all my grass and I don't like trimming. At the present time I sweep a lot and string trim a lot. I know some will wonder why I want to bag. The answer is, I use the grass clippings as animal feed, weed control, and bedding. |

Found a used Walker 4 hours from me. 2002, MTGHS, 20hp, 1000 hrs. about $4K. I think I'm going to buy it if it's still there next week.

Grasshopper makes a front mount, not sure if it is a bagger though.

Picked up the Walker. It's in pretty good shape. Now all I need is some grass to mow. It has 930 hours on it and looks very well maintained. The dealer had it since it was new as a demo/loaner.
