DIY Sprinkler Head Repairs or Not!

Question for the irrigation pros.

What's the most common mistakes homeowners make when trying to repair their sprinkler system themselves?

I'm sure many of you deal with this on service calls. Does it usually take you more time to fix their mistakes along with the original problem as well?

Using inferior parts/brands, using risers instead of swing pipe or swing joints, trying to glue poly pipe, not using clamps on poly pipe, using caulk or duct tape on a poly/pvc/copper leak, inserting the wrong nozzle for the area, so many more.

Mixing heads in zones. Too many heads for pressure available. Popups that stick up absurdly high or on shrub risers.

when I see a 2" Rain Bird Sure Pop with a 15H nozzle where an 8H should be, then I know that the lawn guy probably hit one with a mower.

trying to fit the wrong kind of head back in place of one they broke with the mower, etc. they come up with some crazy stuff, like they never did well with the dif shape blocks and holes toys as a young child.
