No point in thinking about mowing. I started mowing 3rd week of march last year which was rare, usually 2nd week of April is the average. I did place my order last night for some blades, spare parts, trimmer string, edger blades ect.....but I have no intention of getting any equipment out for a few weeks yet. I tuned up, sharpened blades and changed oil in everything in December so I would not have to get anything out until season starts. I still am not ready to see all this stuff cluttering up my garage yet as I keep most equipment down at the end of my property during the winter.
I guess I am getting old as I see no excitement in spring anymore. Since I got in the snow removal game for the first time this winter, money was not as tight. Frankly, I dont care when mowing starts I am still hoping for another snow storm. Posted via Mobile Device |

yeah I'm still hoping for more snow as well. I won't be getting mowers out and ready until some time in march.

robins have been in the yard for awhile now here. it gets warmed up into the 60s and then gets cold again. i don't think we'll be able to mow until it stops raining. it seems like it hasn't stopped raining for the past 3 months. we had 2 days of sun and the ground didn't even dry out and then it rained again last night. it's gonna be an ugly start. might be mud ridin' for the first month.

Michigan can't have much more snow. We get it ALL or nothing..!
I say first week of may for first cut, no early spring this year.

Robins come and go durning the winter. If the ground is showing there will be some Robins. However, I do have 6 Blue Birds that are hanging out eating suet. First time I have seen any durning the winter.

Here in southern WVa last year's mowing season was unusual with mowing starting a full week early. This year looks like a normal year with the last week of March being the first full week.

you never know here. you may start cutting and then it could snow. it was in the 60s here and now they are saying snow flurries on saturday with temps in the 30s. i'm sure sunday or monday temps will be right back up in the 60s.
