bed edger shaft play?

Im not sure if this the right thrread but here is my question i have the opportunity to buy a brown 5.5hp bed edger and the owner says the shaft has play in it. I know there is 2 bearings in the housing but how hard would it be to replace these or is it something bigger? Also what should i pay for im looking for a cheap edger and this is on the lower end of my price range. just looking for any advice or what i price i should pay for.

Here's a link to the Brown's Bed Edgers--select your model--parts breakdown and parts list should be available.

http://brownproducts.com/Products/Manuals.htm

The very few Browns I've worked on have had two cylindrical bearings with locking collars that lock to the rotor shaft. It's possible that the locking collar(s) may have slipped.
