What do you think on this bid?

The company that mows the front yards in my neighbor hood charges 2,0004 a year for common grounds and 8$ per yard, is their any profit if I under Bid them and tried to take their place next season? They do horrible never have sharp blades and always scalp the yards.

69x$8=$552/8hrs=$69/hr

so they are making $69/hr and paying 5 guys?

if you pay the guys $10/hr you are making $19x8hrs=$152 a day then you subtract expenses.

not very good if you ask me.

no reason to underbid horrible work. The only reason I under bid is if I know I can make profit, and I under bid by 1 penny when I'm aware of the current rate--I only do this on properties over $200/month. $8/yard is too low for any size lawn. I make more than $8 to chemically treat 2,000 sq. ft. in a minute. I would look more into square footage and trimming/blowing/edging time which you have not mentioned in order to calculate if its worth it or not.

I think he's including the common areas which is either 2,000 or 20,0000 per year because the first post wasn't clear.

A 5 man crew for me would produce between $1200 and 1800 per day.
