Older walker....give me your thoughts.

So since all my equipment was stolen a few months ago, I am slowly rebuilding. I bought a new MBK and a exmark 30. But I find myself needing a bagging walker again. I have a friend that wants to sell his 93 MC for $300.00 it has only been used in his yard, motor was replaced in 2001. It has the 16 hp and electronic pto switch. Hours unknown. What would you do? If it last 6 months I should be able to get my money back. I spoke with a walker mechanic and he said that if the motor or hydro went out it would not be work fixing. Tell me what you think?

I think I would pass on that mower. And try and find a newer one. Depending on the deck size that 16 HP will be under powered. I would look for the 20 or 23

How do you like the mbk? I currently have a 26MT and even though I love it and need to collect, there are some properties where I would die for just a mulching or side dishcharge unit......

The MBK is great, I just find myself needing to collect sometimes. Before my stuff was stolen I had a GHS and an MBK. I thought that was a great set up. When I would run two mowers I always bagged the front and mulched the back. Customers liked it and it sped up the cutting process.

$300 sounds like a good deal for a temporary machine if it works OK. I was using a '91 mc commercially until 2010. Still have a 42 inch ghs deck from it somewhere around here. That carbureted engine sucks a lot of fuel compared to efi engines. With the 52 inch sd deck I did have to slow down in thick grass. Had enough power for the 42 inch decks though.

Yes windflower that was my thought also. I would just run it until
Something major happened. I would also mulch the lawn first and then run back over it with the bagger to collect clippings. Will let y'all know what happenes and keep you posted. Thanks for the responses.
