06' Dodge Ram 1500 REAR END

Well i have just gotten back from delivering a john deere 400 i just sold to a guy about 80 miles away. On the way home(trailer empty) i hear this loud howling noise coming from the rear end only when my foot is on the acceleator.

When i got off the highway, going from 15-0 decelerating, the howling turns into a sound like a low oil power steering pump. I am taking the truck into the shop tomorrow but i have narrowed it down to these things:

-Rear-dif has low oil
-U joint
-Wheel Bearing Gone Bad(but it still rides smooth
-Gears are worn in the transfer case
-Pinion bearin bad

Have any of you dodge owners had this happen to them?
The truck has 97k on it, and has had the all the fluids and plugs and filters changed at 90k

It could very well be your ring and pinion gears

Nyah man it could be any number of things, just because you heard and it sounds like doesn't mean much, there's not much sense in speculating as to what it could be, just as well wait until someone has a look at it and can diagnose the actual cause of the problem.

its at the shop now. He thinks its a combination of a bad pinion, and a loose u joint.

Will have furthure diagnoses tomorrow
