payroll ?

hello, first year using a payroll company

anyways,
must one file a quarterly report for a quarter in which there was 0 activity?

payroll company stated yes must do

but just seems odd, sales tax qtrs need not be filed with 0 activity

is this state dependent?

im in MA for reference

thanks

We file quarterly payroll tax and quarterly income taxes. It is something that has to be done. IF you don't report they don't know what you have done, and can be had for tax evasion. Are you not on your company payroll?
