Quick tip for something ELSE to carry

ok so the background is two days from taking my vacation, and have jobs STACKED UP. I pull up to start my day and discovered that my drive cable for my self propel on the exmark 30 is broke. its my primary mower, and I REALLY need it now. It broke right up by the z bend, and about 4 to 6 inches of cable was exposed from the I started thinking..

Thankfully the customer had some of that style cable, and a few of those small u bolt clamps that will cinch down on that cable. So about 20 minutes later, about 12 inches of cable, and two of those clamps, and I have it fixed for the time being!! SAVED..

So you can bet that Ill be carrying a roll of that cable and few clamps in the future. I will go out and get a few pics of the set up tomorrow, to better explain it.

With the nearest dealer being an hour and half away, its not something I can just go pick up quick. Besides, the mower is still under warranty, so Ill set up a day to take it in....AFTER vacation.

Just wanted to pass this quick fix along in case yall come across a similar problem.

I keep spare parts in my garage but I dont carry alot of the stuff with me either. All of my accounts are a reasonable distance from the house if something breaks in the field. Breakdowns are real nuisance. If a piece of equipment keeps going down I dump it. I have very little patience. I sold my 09 grandstand and a honda pushmower because of constant problems. My echo stick edger is the next thing to go.
