Complete tree removal

I have heard of a process that takes a complete tree as a whole, not necessarily cutting it up to remove it. Can anyone tell me if this is true, and if so how do I request it? I know that tree companies do not like to remove trees unless they are deceased. Can anyone offer information. Thanks

Perhaps you are thinking of a tree spade, which removes the root ball as well allowing for the tree to be replanted elsewhere
