80,000 piece eddm

I've got 80,000 nice sized mailers I will be sending out in the next week. I want to send them out in a fashion where it'll be a steady influx of calls. At first I was going to send all 80,000 at once. I'm using a company that has an eddm # so they can send as many at once as I need. I've got 50,000 house and businesses that I plan to mail to. I was wondering if any of you have opinions on how many to drop in each area. My total service area is about 100 miles. Any and all opinions are welcome. I hope everyone has a great 2013 season!

What type of business are these? If they are out of towners ,the manger more then likely will toss it. Delete them and see how many you have and do a residential route again. Even if you get half percent in calls ,can you handle 400 phone calls?

My first go around will only be 50,000 and less than 1500 are businesses. I would imagine we will be between 1-2% response based on the coupons. We are targeting DIY clients as well. Just wondering how many people generally call the same day, week, or month based on # of mailers.

I do about 5k at a time. You start getting calls about 3 days after they go out. then peter out a few days late. So I spaced mine out a week a part ,this way I have time to do the estimates before the new ones call.

I would hit 20k four times, rather 80k once. Your response will be better. Roll them out every week for four weeks.
Imagine your response rate lower1-2% is too high. Make sure the weather is forecast too be good and getting warmer.

How much does about 5k EDDM printed and mailed cost on average. I know it depends on the route but what is a good average cost?

It's your printing costs and .158 cents per piece if mailed by a company that has a dedicated eddm number registered with the post office.

My response rate to 2500 was 1/25th of a percent. Yep. Got 1 call out of 2500 cards. Glad I sold them on mowing and apps. Will have to mow that lawn 22 times to break even. Hopefully you have a much better return!
