Need to Kill Henbit and Hairy Bittercress in Centipede

I need to do an app in the next week or so on some centipede with a pretty good growth of henbit and hairy bittercress. I've noticed some green in the centipede this week so it's in transition. Any recommendations on what to apply that won't inhibit the green-up?

The next time someone complains about your pricing, ask them how much their barber would charge to come over and cut their hair.

This is the year for henbit and hairy bittercress in eastern NC. My pre-m was not very effective on this stuff. Why not go ahead and cut the centipede really low and treat after full green-up in a few weeks.?

Yeah, that would be an option, but the situation is unique in that it's my wife's aunt and we don't normally mow the property since it's outside our normal mowing radius. We were doing the weed control app as kind of a favor to her since the last company they used didn't do a good job. It also gives me a chance to practice on a "family" lawn. I suppose since I'm making the trip I could go ahead and mow it, then do the app. It's not quite 3/4 acre, so it's not a huge place.

the hairy bittercress could probably be treated with some light 3-way. That henbit however is a lot tougher. Can you spot spray?

I can't spot spray this, it's pretty much all over the yard.

MSM turf(metsulfuron) from Quali-Pro would work just read label for mix based on weeds you want to kill.

Looks like I'll wait until full green up and explain to the aunt about herbicide risks to centipede in transition. I don't want to damage her otherwise healthy turf. Thanks for the responses.

Good decision. Then use the metsulfuron, not 3-way.

Metsulfuron and Quicksilver + MSO has been my solid performer on sensitive warm season grasses and difficult broadleaves. Take note of the rate ceiling on centipede. No more than 1/2 oz per acre of a 60 DF product. Any more will stress or kill the centipede. I also guess that spot spray applications apply anywhere from 1/2-2 oz per acre if not applied through a fan nozzle operated at a set pressure. This is something that should be done through a boom or a fan nozzle operated at a set pressure.
