Mobile office

Anyone utilize a mobile office in your work truck? I have been considering adding a lap top and ram mount and a wireless printer to one of my trucks. I have an ipad but its a bit clumsy/slow to tpye in. For those of you that have a similar set up any suggestions on set up or equipment that works well for you. Truck is a regular cab.

Thanks

If you hit the search box with laptop mount truck you'll find a ton of posts on the topic.

If you're using an iPad, get a bluetooth keyboard. It is a lifesaver when it comes to typing.

I am not a landscaper, so this might be a dumb question. Instead of a printer could you use Iannotate or a similar program on the iPad for invoicing and quotes and have the customer sign on the iPad via one of those programs then email the completed form to your customer, cc ing yourself?

Yes, you sure could. If you wanted to you could go paperless. Email billing and online bill pay. I'd think it would take some volume to make that cost effective.

I am using a Google Chromebook and Ram mount. I like it. The Chromebook is an online only deal. It does not have its own storage like a windows based computer. Thats fine Im just using it for Service Autopilot which is web based and I can get all my emails through Gmail.

No Printer. If they need a written estimate on the spot you could just email them the estimate.

The no storage on my computer with the main reason I can't get on board with a chromebook.
