Make wooden detachable side rails, so you can remove them to load pallets/equipment. I'd paint the bed, rails, rims, grille & mirrors all black. Now you will have a nice looking truck. Also upgrade to tail/clearance lights to LEDs down the road.

What engine is in it? 454? 6.5 diesel?

I like the idea of the wooden sides, and painting everything. Get the whole truck painted if you can find a good deal?

Why? It looks to me like the paint on the cab is in pretty good shape. I'd say add the factory chrome grille, get the bed blasted and painted and build some sides.

5.7 L gasser..99,000 miles...wish it was a diesel.

looks like a solid work truck with lots of potential. it's not a work truck with out a couple dents few scratches and a little rust.
