Planting 500 trees in spring, recommendations?

I am going to plant 500 trees this coming spring.

What would you recommend for best resale value in 7-10 years?

I can choose five of the following

Black Cherry
Black Walnut
Hackberry
Silver Maple
Sugar Maple
Red Oak
Black Oak
White Oak
Pin Oak
Burr Oak
Concolor fir
Norway Spruce
White Spruce

Thanks
Craig

Research?

Where are you located?

Have you asked local nurseries what their hottest trees/most popular are?

Call a few landscape companies and see what they use often, I find LA's tend to use the same thing over and over.

Large shopping malls/commercial areas usually want trees that tolerate urban conditions, are drought/swamp tolerant and hardy as hell.

Local nurseries that deal with the public often want small yard trees that have some form of ornamental value.

Take a drive around and note the trees that are popular in your new landscapes and what does well in your soils.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

I am located in Iowa.

I have not, and thanks for the ideas. We are not a farm/business yet, but wanted to get something in the ground and growing while I can to get a jump on things. We have the space and want to start making it productive. I know everyone seems to love the Lindens, but I dont have a source for them.

Around here the only marketable plants on that list are the oaks.
