Mulch install/ delivery prices.

I am seeing alot of companies advertising mulch around $45 dollars a yard delivered and installed. That seems cheep to me, unless a person was installing a very large volume. Whats your thoughts?

I haven't done to much mulch in the past, but the ones I have done are only a couple of yards, and I charge $75 a yard delivered and installed.

Some guys will quote 5 yards and use 3 yds ,this increases their profit even though they quote a low per yd price.

If your using cheap single cut mulch and getting it for 15/yd and have jobs where all your doing is throwing down mulch and doing 3 yards an hour with 3 guys that's about 20 a man hour (60/hr) so a profit is doable... it's cheap and it wont be a good job but maybe that's what those people want IDK. I don't see how they can include quality edging and cleanup in that price.

For us cleaning the beds out and edging is addition to the mulch install price

Sure seems there's always someone out there who seems to have found a better angle to it,
and not just marginally better but grossly so... Like, how is it possible so?

That having been said, best I can tell you is...

Don't cheat your customer(s).
Don't cheat yourself.
Keep doing that.
End of story.

This is a little off topic, sorry about that... but I was wondering what type of weed barrier you guys have been using before putting the mulch down. I've tried 3 different types but they are all letting the weeds pop through.
Thanks!
