25hp Kaw spitting and sputtering

I have a 25hp kaw that from time to time will start spitting and sputtering and eventually stall out. It has gotten so bad at time that the exhaust will fill up with gas. I checked the solenoid on the carb and that seems to be kicking on and off. I even swapped it out. The carb is clean. If you watch the fuel filter, you can see that it tends to run the filter pretty low and then shoot gas in to catch up.

It only does this from time to time. You can usually stop it from stalling by pinching the fuel like to cut off gas flow. We can go days with nothing happening and some days it will stall out every 15 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds like you have a float hanging up or a faulty float needle valve......

The fuel filter was replaced a couple of times.

I pulled the bowl off and checked the float, everything looked ok but maybe I will replace to be sure.

We put a shut off on the fuel line so when it starts to sputter we cut the gas and that has worked all this week.

Sounds like a carb issue to me as well. Most likely the float. The thing about a carb is they are finicky. What looks clean to you may be enough buildup to cause issue. Might be time to have it professional cleaned. You may try spraying the crap out of the float and bowl with carb cleaner and running a wire in the inlets to make sure they're clear and clean (be cautious not to scratch them though). You can always pull the carb and clean it yourself but you'll need a rebuild kit, clean compressed air, and a whole lot of patience. Good luck.
