Can you guarantee a perfect lawn?

I got reamed out by a customer today who is in the top 5 of my best looking lawns easy. There are some thin areas near the ditch on the side of the house with weeds and an area at the front near the ditch with weeds. 95% of the lawn is weed free and healthy.

So I ask, can any of you guarantee a perfect lawn?

When I say this guy reamed me out he literally yelled so loud the entire neighborhood could hear him.

No, and if someone ever reamed me out like that, it would be the last time I cared for their lawn.

There is no 100% guarantee with treatments. The goal is to bring the threshold to an acceptable level.

The weeds could be resistant to your herbicide maybe, I would just offer him a free spot application to take care of it.

But, if someone was yelling at me like that, I would probably just walk off site as soon as his voice was raised into a yelling tone.

Good answer. Unless the person also has control of the weather, nothing is guaranteed. Seriously, it is not the LCOs fault if the temperature of the area rises above or drops below what is optimal for the grass. It also is not his fault if it does not rain and there is no efficient irrigation system under his control to supply water. There are also places that I do not think grass belongs, ever. Those are places where maintaining it to high standards is impossible or impractical. Ditchbank? Does this ditch flow into a public waterway? That falls under the new NPDES requirements and spraying it is an aquatic application restricted by those new requirements.
