Sod on sand?

Anyone have any trouble with sod taking root in sandy soils? The top few layers are fill dirt/sand.

Thanks!

My opinion...beach sand is not a good idea because the particles are round. It is too soft and becomes unstable. Sandy soil with a fair amount of fine particle solids should work OK. (Provided irrigated often and fertilized to compensate for the low fertility-holding characteristics of sand.)
Slow release nitrogen and frequent applications of potash are normally needed.
