Just a note on the whole guard dog idea. I have heard it works best to get two dogs for the best results: a big dog like a rottweiler or doberman for the muscle, and a small high-strung dog like a terrier for a noisey alert.

My dogs alerted me the other night , first night with the windows down on the house. Unmistakable sound of shoes pounding the driveway and I couldn't sleep the rest of the night

Shame their so many scum bags now days that would steal from anyone. Way I see it if you steal from me your taking away from my family and that results in severe actions and if I catch them well a couple broken arms is always a good lesson

The movie, Casino has a scene like this. Two guys are in the casino pulling a scam to rip off money. One of them gets taken to a private room where the casino manager has his hand smashed with a hammer. Go watch it--you'll love it.

Dogs left in the truck (windows open) while you work is a cheap insurance. Also, make sure to never input your EXACT Home address in your GPS unit. They could steal your GPS and since they know you are not home...

I've input the address of a house 20 houses away from mine for my "Home".

Man theives are the worst, I squeezed in a quick 2hr trimming job at a gas station in a high end part of town. So i finish and roll out and got a 1/2 mile and realized i left my hedgers sitting on the ground. When I left there were some mexican pool cleaners sitting at their truck in the parking lot. So I whipped it around and get back and the guys are still there and my hedge trimmer isnt. I can tell by their body language that they had em. So i walk over and ask if they seen who took em. They all look at one guy...lol So they play dumb and look in the back of their truck and there they are.

So they start saying its theirs ...blah blah so I said then call the cops. Right then a cop pulls in and I said "if these are yours then go tell him that I just ripped you off" grabbed them and off I went.

I like the GPS idea, never thought about that. However, since they stole the whole truck, my registration was in the glove box along with my garage door opener! Codes have been changed, but my address has not :-)
