wiring

O.k replaced the motor and everything lined up but i need to know this.On the kawasaki it had to black and one white wire coming off the engine which is for the key switch. Now on the kohler i have only one black and one white wire coming off the engine. My guess would be to connect both blacks with the one black coming off the engine and of course white to white, does this sound right?
