Our new 2013 John Deere 661R Stander

I picked this up about 2 weeks ago. It's the first one sold by my local JD dealer. It has the 61" deck and the 23.5 hp engine. Quick height adjust for the deck. It's made by Wright and painted green.

My crew loves it so far.

I'm a diesel guy, but for cutting residential lawns this mower does a great job. Ill post some pics of the striping.

I'm mobile so I can't see where you are from...

How does it cut? And what types of grasses are you cutting?

That thing looks like a tank though

it's essentially the same as a wright X, i have a 52'' stander X and love it. i did however find that removing the front baffle got rid of any clumping, the grass is way too thick and growing way to fast here right now to use the baffle.

JD made some minor changes but it is essentially the same. the guts of it are all Wright, JD changed up the controls and a few other things.

I love the design of those standers. It looks like it would be rock solid on hills.
How does it cut/discharge comapred to the other JDs you run?

You can definitely tell it is made by Wright, the deck looks just like the aero core except for yours is not sloped in front like the X is. I run a 52" Sport X and love it, but it does suck the fuel. It really shines on thick lawns.

I like those new John Deere stand ons. I drove one at my Lesco dealers open house and it seemed like it's going to be a good machine. I've just always ran red.
