i dunno how much the stihl is. i'm sure it's not cheap.

i got the craftsman one i use for $35. i already had the batteries so i didn't have to buy a charger and batteries.

i've never used a gas powered hedge trimmer. i picked one up at lowes one day and it didn't seem all that heavy to me. it was a husqvarna. i picked up a stihl at the dealer one time and it was heavy and awkward. it didn't seem balanced right. the husqvarna seemed really balanced. if i used one alot i might consider buying one but it's not something i do very much. most people around here trim their own shrubs.

shrub trimming is only a 1 time a year thing here as well.

Maybe Little Wonder. 7lbs.

There actually are some safety factors you get with these. Once you let go of the trigger, blades stops almost instantly...no run-on like the gas ones.No smoke in your face or loud noise esp. if you get the quiet type generator. I have no experience using but I have seen a few threw the years using them.
