i guess i just don't understand but why work 7 days a week? why not just hire another guy and get it all done in 5 days? or just let some of the customers go? gotta know when to say when.

it an ongoing cycle. the more you make the more you buy so the more you have to make to keep up.

i dunno just curious. i worked on a crew of 3 people back in college. we did 10 yards a day. made about $500 a day average. we never worked saturdays or sundays. if it rained we just picked up where we left off the next working day. so if it rained friday we just mowed friday's yards on monday.

Wife doesn't work, got 2 kids, not on welfare, and get no assistance.
That and we can only mow 6 months out of the year is a good reason to work 7 days a week.

To sum up a long reason why....... cost of living. Every area is different.

For example : People around here think $9 an hour is GOOD money.

I usually work 5 12-16 hr days, and sat is usually 6-14 hrs and Sunday depends on whats going on. If I had rain during the week it can turn into a 10-16hr day really fast.

6-7 days a week here. Mow all commercial stuff on Saturdays but sometimes that spills over to Sunday. Residentials during the week and rarely does that spill into Saturday. I try to front load my schedule to allow Fridays for make up rain days.

you guys are crazy. if i had to work 7 days a week to make it I would sell it all and go back to my old job. You either have too many bills or you just love money. 3-4 days a week 5 max and that only happens a couple times a year.

Most of February, March and Part of April I did'nt work.. Just sat around and watched all the neighbors go to work. It was nice and Now Bust Azz to get next years vacation! Kind of nice to have 40 days off instead of a week.

Horse hockey.

We average about 6 months of mowing as well. Never, ever have I or my father or anyone working for us worked on Sunday in the growing season. He took over from his grandfather in '62. He made it through the 70's and early 80's with 5 kids, my mother worked in the office and never a dime from welfare or benevolence from church.

It's about priorities and scheduling. Your wife is correct. God did take a day off. Enjoy time with your family while you can.

The only time I'm working on Sunday is if it snows or I have a fire\medical.
