Toro 6.75 Engine replacement CHEAP?

Picked up a Toro 22" personal pace recycler today for free. It has a blown engine on it and I was wondering if any of you mechanics knew of a CHEAP direct bolt in replacement. I know Harbor Freight sells cheap engine but I wanted to know if anyone knew the exact replacement for this mower. this mower also has the electric start option.

Thanks in advance

If you expect the fish to bite, you need to put some bait on the hook.

How about some engine numbers, model, type and code. You will likely find those on the baffle above the muffler.

What's the model and serial number of the Toro unit. It's probably under the chute flap on the rear of the mower.

Just my honest opinion from several years in a Toro shop--saw a number of the box store, bottom of the line, steel deck Toros and it's not worth the time, expense and effort to rehabilitate them.

Following is a link to Tulsa Engine Warehouse's replacement engines--their telephone number is 918-770-0186. Give them a call and with your engine numbers they more than likely can hook you up with the proper replacement. You may want to ask about a shortblock assembly as well, probably in the range of $150.

If you plan to pursue the Harbor Freight Chinese knockoff, you'll want to make sure the output crankshaft length and diameter are the same and that it is keyed the same.

I no longer have access to a Briggs distributor to get the proper replacement engine or shortblock.

If Restrorob sees your post he can probably get you squared away.

From what I see, This is the needed shortblock which would be the cheapest way to go; http://tewarehouse.com/792742
