summer weed control

I recently took over a lawn from a guy that had to retire and I am starting to notice weeds coming up. This is a very nice fescue lawn and I don't want it to go downhill. No preemergents were ever applied. He suggested 24D and no I am not licensed for chemicals yet. Any suggestions?

+ 1, don't try and pull one over on all the people who are legitimately licensed, karma.

It is illegal to spray for pay in NC w/o the license.

yeah, I did some research on the nc agriculture site and saw that you must be licensed to spray for pay so I saw there is a class in June. I'll be signing up. I think I have the right class. It a pesticide class for ornamentals and turf but I think I this for weeds too. Anyone know for sure if that's the right class?

Yes you to sign up for the ornamental & turf exam + the core exam.

You can take the class or order the books on your own.

Definitely be sure to order the books ahead of time to study them. It makes the test less stressful. Also I recommend attending the prep class before the test alot of times they will go over the test beforehand.

Forgot to ask. Does the class help with which product to use for a given situation and time of year? Otherwise, how do you find out which product to use? Thanks.
