Haha... I just thought about that this evening... must have been an omen.

A couple weeks ago we were out brush hogging a municipal property and a rock about the size of a baseball flew out from the front of the brush hog. If I would have had on tennis shoes or hiking boots, I would have probably broke my ankle. I couldn't walk the next day and had a lot of swelling for a week, but still. The boots did great!

My ankle had already swollen huge in the pic, that was about 6 hours later.

So, I think I got these on 5-12-13. Here's what they look like as of 10-20-13. Basically 6 days a week of wear. The leather is holding up great. The soles as you can tell in one pic are wearing down in the center some. The leather "pull" tags on the rear have both tore, but that's a minor.

Ya, the waterproofing is definitely holding up. My feet haven't been wet once. Even though they are thinsulated my feet never got hot once during the summer. The only thing I wish is that they came in a 6" so they don't look quite as goofy with shorts, but that's just a minor.

Also, the laces have held up well. I usually got through a couple pairs of laces a season, but these are the original. I had started switching out to paracord, but these look like a thinner version of paracord.

In 8 years this is actually the first pair that's made it through an entire season. I was curious back in the mid-summer how much I walked a day, so I got a pedometer app for my phone and a standalone one just to see. On average I'm walking about 7 miles each day in these. That's a pretty good bit.

I've said it before in other threads, but on 2 daily routes we use WBs exclusively on 15-20 lawns that are between 1/4~1/2 acre, and on most of them they are cut up enough or steep enough that a sulky doesn't work. So, that's a lot of walking...

Going into it they weren't my favorite looking pair, but honestly I'll give them the "looks aren't everything". My feet have never hurt in the evenings. The only thing I will say is that after 12 straight hours of wearing them, you do know they are on, but that goes with any pair of boots.

With my cheap boots that I buy now the seal breaks in about 3 months of heavy use so, in the morning with all the dew my feet get really really moist, I hate it. I always always wear pants so I don't have that problem haha
