Weedeater Head reccomendation

Has anyone had any luck with quick replacement heads for their trimmers? I trim alot around ponds which have cypress knees and they eat away my string. I have an echo 28-t (i believe thats the name) and an older stihl fs-80. I was thinking about putting on something other than string like those plastic brush cutters but I dont have any experience with them. Anyone have any opinion on them?

Have you tried a Speed Feed head?
Still uses trimmer line, but much easier/faster to reload. I use Husqvarna Titanium .105 trimmer line in mine and it lasts a good while.
