Help!! Motor problems

My dixie chopper XG2703 with the 27hp generac motor is down and I dont know what it is or what to do. I was cutting this evening and all of a sudden it was almost like the blades were out of balance or something because the mower started shaking real bad. I shut the blades down real fast and the mower acted fine at that point. I thought maybe something had gotten under the deck at that point and wrapped up around the spindle or something, but everything was clean and normal. So I got back on it and went to start it and turned the key and the motor wouldn't even turn over. The battery is fine, but its like the motor is almost locked or something because it just starts to turn and just stops. Stumped and looking for help!! Thanks!!

Help!! Motor problems

How many hours? Sounds like crank bearings or something similar. Bad bearings and it'll get unbalanced and shake? My truck did that went the crank bearings went on it. A certain RPM's it would vibrate bad

If I was a betting man, I say your connecting rod broke. Common problem on Generac. Take plugs out, get 5/8 wrench, put long screwdriver in hole, spin engine by hand, see if both pistons are moving

Not good

Took the cover off the top and couldn't even budge it by hand. I think shes locked. Only has 1060 hrs. I am not a mechanic that's forsure but a buddy tried to turn it by hand and like I said it wont even budge. Looks like I am in the hunt for a new motor for her!! Anyone know where I can get a new crate motor for a decent price?

I concur...it sure sounds like a rod siezed...
most don't shut off the engine before it grenades and ventilates the block...
It might be repairable..??? ..depending on the cause and extent of the damage...

Yeah....RestroRob...I said might...it'd be the first known generac to get rebuilt after a rod failure..
