Venner Stone Waterfeature

I'm thinking about building a veneer stone water feature with a pondless system below the fall. My worries are that water will splash off of the rocks below and onto the veneer stone. The feature will be 4X3 ft. with a invisible fall. If the water could get behind the stone it would definitely pop the stone off once the temperature drops. Are there any products or tips that could help me with this?

Thanks

You could use an clear coat of aquatic shield expoxy. Just use a paint brush over all the mortar joints and edges and it will seal them up.
